As a chartered physiotherapist with 10 years of experience, Ciara’s philosophy is person-centred: her practice is driven by an interest and care for the holistic person, not just the injury or pain you present with. Her treatments are a blend of Eastern and Western techniques which she finds to be an effective and supportive way of unlocking people’s experiences of pain.
Ciara’s practice of physiotherapy treatment is an integrative blend of both Eastern and Western medicine. This is propelled by an initial thorough evaluation and diagnosis, the key to unlocking perplexing pain issues for patients. It complements the traditional tendency in Western medicine of treating the patients’ symptoms locally.
A full body evaluation is carried out on each patient to evaluate muscle, joints, bone, fascia and swelling. Increasingly nutrition, the environment and emotion also play a significant factor. This integrated approach to Mind, Body and Spirit Medicine reflects Ciara’s core philosophy.
Ciara started Active Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic in 2008. In 2001 she obtained a Sport Science Degree from University of Wales. She has been practising as a Chartered Physiotherapist for over 10 years, having graduated from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2005.
Ciara also completed numerous postgraduate courses on a vast number of topics including manual therapy for the spine, myofascial release and neurostructural integration technique (NST). She has a special interest in, and experience with, a unique holistic and mind-body approach within the Physiotherapy setting. She recently completed Reiki and Seichim Mastership and Reflexology courses.
The Practice tends to bring a modern approach to private practice Chartered Physiotherapy, using physical means and hands-on approach to assist and encourage recovery. A wide spectrum of patients ranging from infants, children, teenagers, amateur and professional athletes along with the geriatric population are referred to Ciara.
